Jardin du Luxembourg
It rained three out of the four days we spent in Paris. On the one beautiful dry day, we wandered over to the Jardin du Luxembourg, a stunning park that I had not yet visited over the past few trips. The scenes were more glorious than I had imagined. It makes me wonder though, why do we have no grand parks like this in the states? We clearly have to step it up.

That's funny because as French (especially Parisians), we look at US or UK park as Central Park or Hyde Park and say "why don't we have big park like this here". Ours are beautiful but small, we are not allowed to walk on the grass most of the year and as soon as summer comes, they are just so crowded. But clearly, they are beautiful :)

ReplyDeleteIt really is a damn shame. Being in Portland, we do have access to so many lovely parks and hiking trails... but they just aren't like this. Nothing compares to Paris.

ReplyDeleteMy partner and i spent an afternoon here, wandering every corner of the garden, eating pastries and people watching. Your photos brought back many happy memories. What a magical place Paris is.
